This post is dedicated to my lovely friend Gabi and her gorgeous daughter Maya who a few weeks ago turned one!
My friend and her family worked very hard to make sure that this party will be special and I can assure you, it was.
First of all I need to mention that Gabriele is Brazilian and Maya's dad is Polish so the food at the party was mostly under influence of two wonderful cultures with prevalence of Brazilian.
Unfortunately I don't have any close pictures of the savory food but will try to describe it as much as I can. Gabi gave me the full instructions. Thank you xxx
- coxinhas de frango - translation: "little chicken tights" - are like chicken croquettes
- risoles de queijo e carne - couldn't get a translation, but these are cheese and meat croquettes
- empadinhas de frango - similar to a small chicken pot pie
- bolinhas de queijo - little cheese balls - these are cheese croquettes
Wojtek made some salads too.
Sandwiches were cut into the shapes of flowers, butterflies and bunnies. They used cookie cutter.
Bread sticks with chocolate and sprinkles at the ends.
Time for something sweet.
Beijinhos - translation "little kisses" - coconut sweets made of condensed milk and dessicated coconut
Brigadeiro - these chocolate bonbons were named after a a Brazilian Brigadier, in essence they are sweets made of chocolate and condensed milk
Apples covered in pink chocolate and eatable glitter - a twist to the traditional toffee apples (not so typical in Brazilian parities, but often in street festivals etc)
Mango mousse - normally Gabi would do with a passion fruit, but on the day she couldn't get the ingredients. Its was delicious.
The Bitrthday cake was made out of mix of cupcakes (vanilla and chocolate) from Lola cupcakes and the top was from Valerie patisserie (chocolate, creme St. Honore and strawberries).
The little ballerinas were handmade in Brazil and they were made of biscuit not sure how to translate these. Ballerinas are sitting on the plastic boxes filled with white and pink marshmallows...
The big and small ballerinas on the table and the little boxes, were made of wood painted in white with ribbons, etc
And flowers everywhere
Hopefully you found this post inspiring and enjoyed looking at the pictures (that I took).
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks Agi xxx
